The “Creative Co-op” is for any one wanting to be in the company of other creative people.  It is for anyone who wants paint, draw, sew, quilt, bead, make jewelry, sculpt, knit, spin etc.  It will be a place where you can work, exchange ideas, get critique, and learn from others.  We meet on the 1st Thursday of the month at the Scout Hall Youth Center, 28 Abbe Rd, East Windsor, CT, right off of Rt. 5 from 10 am – 3 pm.  The space is huge, 47’ x 82’ is well lighted with huge windows and completely handicapped accessible.  Please bring your lunch and beverage. The hall is not available during the months of July and August.  If you want to be notified of up coming sessions please email me at RN1757@aol.com and I will put you on my distribution list.

You may also go to www.scouthall.com for more information, and to see what the space looks like and get directions to the Scout Hall Youth Center.

Sincerely,
Nancy Masters, RN1757@aol.com

Collection made by The Creative Cooperative for the Wadsworth Atheneum "Festival of Trees"

These shoes were created by 21 women who have a wide range of talents from all over Connecticut and Western Massachusetts.  The shoes were for a Christmas tree for the Wadsworth Atheneum Festival of Trees in 2008.  This was an incredibly fun project and each shoe is different.  The shoes were painted, beaded, decorated with laces, trims, ribbons, birds, buttons, flowers, butterflies and anything else that could be found.  We set out the shoes along with all kinds of supplies brought from everyone’s personal craft stash.  It was like a candy store for anyone who loves this type of project.  We got out the glue guns and glues and just started creating fanciful shoes.  In fact it was hard to stop for lunch.  It took two sessions to make 90 shoes.   Some artisans who couldn’t attend created their shoes at home.

Linda Modeen of Wethersfield got most of the shoes for us from “Once Upon a Child” in Enfield, a consignment shop for children’s clothing at a 40% discount.  Some other shoes came from Jill Mordasky in Stafford, who got them on eBay.  A list of the women who worked on the shoes is as follows.  Linda McClure, Beth Grant, Anne Keohane, Yyonne Tatro, Deeg Mackay, Anne Hellwig, Mary Barnes, Rosemary Fink, Marji Anderson, Elaine Barron, Elaine Lietz, Dot Willoughby, Bonnie Massey, Beverly Irish, Martha Groet, Michele Muska, Debby Kaczynski, June Mackay, Nancy Masters, Ann Maulucci, Ginny Hartzog and Elizabeth Parker.
